As part of the Grow Your Farm Business Series
Presented by: Laura Arias, Food Justice Educator, and Elizabeth Couse, Community Food Advocate at Youth Farm Project

Food Justice is definitely a buzz word in the farming community. It’s no wonder. In the last decade, it has been exposed that not everyone, right here in America and even in Tompkins County, has access to healthy food and water. Because of this, many organizations and individuals have been taking action against a racist food system that is a representation of our society. We should all be working against this system in the ways that work for us otherwise we are contributing to the problem. Do you agree? As an aspiring farmer, you have an important role in the food system and in food justice work. In this workshop, you will learn what food justice is, how food justice and racism are connected, how food justice issues were created and are maintained, and how to incorporate food justice work into your farm business.
