In terms of land and homestead skills, an understanding of metal repair is essential. Join Monica Burke, owner of Monweld and learn about the basics of torch welding and metal repair. Students will learn the mechanics of the torch, basic steel metallurgy, and safe practices. Each student will get an opportunity to try torch cutting and practice simple welds. The class will also include DIY metal-repair techniques such as “tap and die” and various types of epoxy.
We’ll break for lunch at 12pm. Please bring a bag lunch.
