Our Executive Director (ED) is the operational str Our Executive Director (ED) is the operational strategic leader who lays the groundwork for the organization. You will emphasize and develop racially-just, equitable and sustainable local food and farming systems.  This position is an opportunity for you to make a difference in how agricultural systems work and who they work to support. 

The Groundswell community will provide you with a collaborative space to drive critical resources toward diverse food producers to bring equity and justice in agriculture closer to reality. 

Salary is $68,000. Competitive health and paid time off benefits provided.

This Wednesday, April 14th, Dee Baptist of Fort Ba This Wednesday, April 14th, Dee Baptist of Fort Baptist Farm will be presenting her workshop from 6:00-7:30 PM EDT

Fort Baptist Farm is a Black owned, family-run farm established in 2017, on unceded land of the Cayuga Nation. The Baptist Family enjoys the outdoors and farming is the ultimate outdoor endeavor. Fort Baptist Farm values people over profit- and community and connectivity are ingrained in our practice of food sovereignty. They believe that everyone should have access to great food; and they are excited to bring fresh organically produced food from our farm to your table.

First week of Farmer Training Program was great! D First week of Farmer Training Program was great! Devon from @van_noble_farm taught us the basics about different farm animals, chores, daily care and then we worked as a group to move pigs into new pasture! 🐖 We also learned about low tillage techniques and laid tarps down for weed suppression w/ @cornellsmallfarms.

An incredibly important aspect of moving our equit An incredibly important aspect of moving our equity agenda forward is to use its principles in our hiring process when positions open. That is the case now. 

Groundswell’s Executive Director (ED), Elizabeth Gabriel, has stepped away from her role after many years at the helm, and so the Board of Directors is tasked with finding a new ED who will embody our history, our current practices, values, and principles, and is ready to “hit the ground running” as we scale up our equity work. We’ll be growing into our words and values.
